Epps and St. Kitts

The Eppes, Epes, Epps, etc. family has been noted at various times in recent posts. For that reason, it might be of interest to note that the immigrant Capt. William Epps, who came to Virginia in 1619, “appears” to have moved from there to St. Kitts in the Caribbean by 1633.

We have, of course, connected St. Kitts with the Phipps family on numerous occasions. The Phipps family was extremely heavily involved with the island.

The reference to Epps is found on page 231 of the first volume of Encyclopedia of Virginia Biography, published in 1915 by the Lewis Historical Publishing Company.
